Babies
Babies are busy explorers, using their senses and whole bodies to learn.
Our baby room provides a safe environment for babies to crawl, roll, shuffle and scoot keeping them safe to explore. Activities for babies focus on exploring, through a variety of play and natural sensory & heuristic materials, communication through eye contact, peek a boo, hand gestures, reading, clapping, singing and learning through play about texture, shape, colour, weight and sound.
In this important stage we provide:
- Soft carpeted area with age-appropriate toys
- A creative messy play area for your baby to explore textures and colours.
- Reading and soft play area
- A warm, cosy sleep room with soft lighting and sounds to help your baby
- An artwork & photo display area so you can keep up to date with all the fun.
- Construction area.
Toddlers
Our toddler room supports the children’s learning and development through focused play areas.
Toddlers are fast gaining independence, acquiring language as well as gaining confidence in their physical skills. Our room provides a rich stimulating environment for them to explore and learn. Our practitioners plan activities based on the children interests and level of ability.
For the toddlers we provide:
- Sensory area to explore different sounds, tastes, materials through play.
- Home corner allowing for socio-dramatic play
- Reading and cosy corner to promote reading and build on literacy skills.
- Construction area for children to engineer new creations.
- Small world play to allow for lots of creative and social play.
Preschool
Early childhood is an important time for developing children’s ability to persevere and take risks and solve problems.
We support children’s development through our curriculum, promoting learning through play which allows children to develop confidence and independence while nurturing their curiosity and establishing their identity as a learner.
In our preschool we are part of the Early Childhood Care and Education programme. Some elements of Montessori Programme are also incorporated into our Preschool Programme. Montessori is proven to develop children’s sense of independence by recognising and celebrating the individual child, by recognising the huge potential that the child has and also by nurturing the child’s capability.
We have the following areas in the room:
- Sensory area to explore different sounds, tastes, materials through play.
- Home corner allowing for socio-dramatic play.
- Reading and cosy corner to promote reading and build on literacy skills.
- Construction area for children to engineer new creations.
- Small world play to allow for lots of creative and social play.
